Seriously now, this movie is a keeper. I’m sure everyone’s not expecting a highly intellectual chick flick movie (is there even one?) but this one’s a feel good weekend movie you just wanna watch with your pals. Here’s why I think this movie was great.

1.) Chemistry. Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake simply got that connection (or to some the”spark”) to make this movie work big time. I am not much of an MK fan but when I saw her in Black Swan I knew this chick has acting potential. She was a natural in FWB. She throw that smile and crack some of those jokes and next thing you know you can’t stop thinking about her. JT’s acting was just okay. I kinda noticed that he was struggling on some parts but MK backed him up so I really got nothing much to say about him. But he’s still a charmer.

2.) The side stories. You probably had the impression that this movie will just feature both of the actors running around naked all the time (well for the first few minutes I’d agree) but as the film went on the side stories started to make you understand their characters more. These side stories added color to the movie.

3.) The Flashmob Scene. Not original but one of the best parts of the movie.

4.) Characters/Role. I mean honestly, you guys can clue one in to those characters. They are real. C’mon, whoever of you guys have been a victim of “the sneak-out”? (raises hand hysterically) This is the same reason why people choose not to engage to relationship bound by movie-like emotions and situations. They’d rather get physical than to be tied up. I also wanna commend Woody Harrelson for playing the role of a gay sports columnist, Tommy. Great laughs from this guy throughout the entire film. Gluck should’ve given him more screen time.

5.) The ending. ***SPOILER*** I knew that they’re gonna get together. But the ending was so funny and beautifully done at the same time. And again, THE FLASHMOB SCENE added drama on the big finale.

Bottom line is I enjoyed this movie. Sorry Kutcher and Portman but JT and MK killed this one. I even have “Closing Time” on repeat right now and I can’t stop listening to it for crying out loud! I am not overreacting on this movie. I really think Gluck did a good job on this one. Didn’t expect much. Movie was well done but surprisingly ordinary that’s why I’m giving it an 8/10. This is a chick-flick people…a feel good movie. But I’d still recommend it. Just enjoy it! :)

Lady Gaga

—Dance In The Dark

I <3 this track from Lady Gaga’s Fame: Monster album :)

…at first I really thought it was her :))

”The Dance in the Dark Project F.A.Q. - Q & A” ! :D
—-
Q: OMG! Is she the real Lady Gaga?
A: No, she’s not. Her name is Lizalo Galama. (Notice the initials… Coincidence can be a bit freaky…)

Q: Then who the hell made this?
A: A very passionate group of young Dutch filmmakers, dancers, fashion artists and actors.

Q: Oh my… Why?
A: We wanted to support Lady Gaga and everything she stands for and we wanted to do so by doing what each one of us loves to do the most, whether it’s filming, producing, directing, dancing, designing or acting. No financial gain was made out of this production since it was completely non-profit. Also, see the Behind the Scenes to have a look on set, meet the people that made this and hear in depth why we decided to take on this production that turned out to be one of the most unique experiences we ever had.

Watch The Behind the Scenes here:

Q: Why Dance in the Dark then?
A: Well… How long have you been hoping a music video would sooner or later be released for this amazing song with it’s brilliant lyrics? :)

Q: So, how many people were actively involved in the making?
A: Overall around 82 people. 15 actors, 6 dancers, 28 crew members and 33 associates.

Q: Then how long did it take to make?
A: The total production span took around 6 months. After 4 months of preparation; stages were built in 3 weeks, costumes sewed in 2 weeks, shooting took three days and the video was edited in two weeks. — Yeah, we know… it took us much longer then we expected as well.

Q: I shouldn’t ask but… How much did it cost?
A: Due to the fact that the people in our cast and crew participated and offered the usage of their equiptment absolutely free of charge we managed to get the total production cost at around 15.000,- dollars. Something we’re very proud of considering the result :).

Q: Oh my god! Then who payed for this?
A: Several foundations and organisations supported the overall concept of the production and therefore were willing to help. There were also a lot of crewmembers that decided to each take a few bills on them to ensure the production could maintain the quality we were aiming at.

Q: How on earth did you managed to get all her tattoo’s?
A: Based on the available pictures on the internet, we had an image illustrator digitally redraw the pictures and then we had them custom size printed as temporary tattoo’s.

Q: Must have those! - What camera did you say you used?
A: The video was shot on a RED One with Mysterium-X sensor and RED Prime lenses in 4K Redcode RAW. But we just call him FRed.

Q: Uh… Wow! - So will you make another Gaga video?
A: We’d love to! But we hope people are able to understand that gathering the required amount of money and people to get this done was something we were really only able to do once :(.

Q: Has Lady Gaga herself seen the video then?
A: Truth be told, we haven’t got the slightest idea. And although (as explained in the behind the scenes) this video is dedicated to her and we’d absolutely love to hear from her. The fact that you’re reading this right now is far more important since Lady Gaga exists within her fans. Making a tribute to her is making a tribute to all little monsters all over the world :).

Q: Can I contact you guys?
A: Of course you can! We’d love to hear from you! :) reach us at: yoshy7@gmail.com

Q: Is it on IMDb?
A: Yes, it is http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1964623 feel free to vote if you have an account! :-)

Q: Do you have twitter so I can stay on track regarding future projects?
A: Yup, http://www.twitter.com/drawingmyday (director/producer)

Q: So whats next for you guys?!
A: Currently working on an English psycho drama called Black Premise; http://www.facebook.com/blackpremise

If I’ll give this movie a rating it’d be 9/10.
First time I laid my eyes on the trailer I thought I’d be seeing another ordinary exorcist flick. The only interesting thing about the movie then was Anthony Hopkins being part of the cast. I’ve only seen his performance as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of The Lambs and damn I was downright scared of his character. It was too believable, I can get nightmares. So I thought maybe I should give this movie a try and just hope that he delivers the same performance…and I was right! Once again, Mr. Hopkins proved himself as an outstanding actor by giving out such a powerful performance.
Let us not forget the other casts that delivered an equally superb performance. I believe that each of their acting skills were properly utilized during the whole film. Colin O’Donoghue (who happens to be an unfamiliar name) was also excellent for his role as Michael. He managed to keep his connection to his character alongside Hopkins. He wasn’t overawed. Thus, his delivery of his role was also aboveboard.
Allow me to say that this film is not for the gore-savvy fans. There are less nail screeching sounds, bloodbath scenes and rotating heads in this one. The movie just simply focused on the chance that devil, in some ways, can really get INTO us if we get our faith backsliding and the mere thought of not believing in the existence of evil won’t save us from it. The well written script conveyed the message clearly.
Character build up was also imminent on each scene in the movie. In the whole duration of the film, you might think that it’s too slow-paced with all the flashbacks and all that. But these parts become relevant to the others only to come up of a sensible explanation on why their characters ended up like that. This for me is one of the strong points of the movie.
However I still didn’t understand some parts of the movie that’s why I’ve given it a 9 instead of a perfect 10. Some of these are ***SPOILER*** Why did Michael’s father hate him? Was he responsible for the death of his mother? ***SPOILER*** These parts I needed explanation. So if you guys know the answers for these questions then fell free to PM me. I might’ve missed on something while watching the film.
Great cinematography. Superb musical scoring. This movie is definitely a must watch!!! :)
